Guilhem Gaillarde is an naval architect, with over 25 year experience in applied hydrodynamics and maritime engineering.

He joined MARIN as seakeeping project manager in 1997 and currently heads the Ships department of the institute. Since 2010, he has been actively involved in alternative sustainable solution for the shipping industry, especially by conducting research on wind propulsion for ships or zero emission power. He launched the Blue Forum in 2012, proposing international seminars during the yearly BlueWeek. The aim of such event is to share knowledge, inspire people and create collaborative projects aiming at protecting our blue oceans. Next to this, Guilhem Gaillarde is also members of the standing committee of the PRADS conference and chairman of the HISWA symposium.
