Graduate of the Department of Economics of the Law School of NKUA with postgraduate studies in Transport Economics (MSc Transport Economics) at the PCL of London and Honorary Dr. of the Department of Maritime Studies of the School of Shipping and Industry of the University of Piraeus.
He has been a member of the Eugenides Group since 1976 and Chairman and CEO since 1995. From 2000 he took over the Presidency of the Eugenides Foundation. He was a representative of the Union of Greek Shipowners in the International Organization UNCTAD (United Nations Conference on Trade and Development) and Member of the Chartered Institute of Transport and Logistics M.C.I.T. and the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. Under his Presidency in 2016, the Eugenides Foundation won the Achievement in education and training distinction at the Greek Shipping Awards 2016 organized by Lloyd’s List, for its contribution to maritime education.
Since 2018, as IMO Shipping Ambassador, he has been representing Greece with the aim of attracting young people to the maritime profession, upgrading the image of shipping, maritime safety, and the protection of the marine environment.
